Easy to bake at home dog treats
Our four-legged friends give us so much everyday — of course we want to give back to them the very best we can! For us here at Sweet Chops this means using the best ingredients (both the ones included in the kits and the items we ask you to add) to ensure you can bake home made treats filled with love and not nasty extras.
No artifical colours or preservatives
All our kits contain human grade ingredients and have no added salt, sugar, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. They’re designed to make baking a little piece of decadence for your four legged friends quick and easy.
Our paw-fect ingredients
Here’s a list of our ingredients that will make up your finished cupcakes and gourmet treats.
Coconut flour is extremely dense with nutrients, which is why less of it is required when cooking with it. It is a good source of protein, iron, and it is 'low-carb', giving it a low GI. It is also 100% Gluten Free and provides healthy oils for improving the skin and coat.
Gluten Free Flour
While not all dogs are intolerant of wheat some are so to be on the safe side we use gluten free flour for all our dog treats.
Honey is a great natural sweetener and it’s also full of vitamins and minerals like potassium, calcium and magnesium. We use 100% Australian honey.
Peanut butter is a good source of all-natural protein it’s also a source of vitamin H which great for the coat. Most importantly we find that dog’s love it!
Carob is a safe alternative to chocolate that dogs can eat. Chocolate contains theobromine or theophylline, which can stem the flow of blood to the brain.
Carob contains 8% protein and traces of vitamin A, B, B2, B3 and D. Carob is also high in phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, iron and calcium. These vitamins and minerals are vital in the promotion of healthy bones, teeth, eyes and coat.
Red beets are high in nutrients and low in calories. They contain a mix of antioxidants coupled with vitamin C and B for a healthy heart, iron, potassium, magnesium and more.
Yoghurt drops have no added cocoa so they are safe for dogs to eat. They’re also made from GMO-free ingredients. You can find these along with carob drops at your local pet store sold as ‘dog chocolates’. We use these to decorate and flavour a lot of our treats.
We use a variety of fruit in our treats including mixed berries, apples, bananas.
We also use canola oil, eggs, oats, ginger and cinnamon. Most importantly there is no additional sugar, salt or any chemical preservatives used in our cupcakes or dog treats. We like to bake dog treas for our canine friends that have everyday ingredients that would be familiar to you and easily found at a supermarket or local health food store.
How much how often
All our ingredients in the kits are dog friendly so the cupcakes and treats that you whip up are designed to be a little piece of decadence for your pooch rather than a substitute for a wholesome healthy diet.
